Nicole Anderson is ordained deacon at Christ Church Cathedral
Send down the Holy Spirit upon your servant Nicole,whom we set apart by the laying on of our hands,for the office and work of a deacon in your Church. Take authority to exercise the office and ministry of a deacon in the Church of God,in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
In a wonderful celebration, at the Cathedral on Monday night, Nicole Anderson was ordained Deacon in the presence of her family and friends, the clergy of the diocese and parishioners from both Fred’s Pass and the Cathedral congregations.
Bishop Kay Goldsworthy, one of Australia’s first women Bishops, had led Nicole’s pre-ordination retreat and then preached at the service. She talked about the role of the Deacon as that of a bridge and a bridge-builder.
Nicole will continue her work at the Cathedral, where she is much loved and valued.
