Over thirty people gathered at the Cathedral recently to join in conversation with author, theologian and social commentator Diana Butler Bass. Diana reminded us of the importance of intentional practice of the faith and challenged us to remember that, as CS Lewis wrote, “the church is the one organisation that exists solely for those outside its membership”. Rather than lying awake wondering how we can save the church, perhaps we should spend more time lying awake at night wondering how we can save humanity.
