Origins… on the origin of species
In this book by Charles Darwin, we mostly have an elaboration on the structure of breeded pigeons, the feeding habits of ants, varieties of grasses, turnips and the bodies of barnacles. This doesn’t seem like the stuff of great scientific and social revolutions. Yet contained within it is a deceptively simple idea that changed the way we understand and interact with our world.
Origins is a unique collaboration between the Darwin Symphony Orchestra, the Darwin Chorale, Corrugated Iron Youth Arts and the Darwin City Council, celebrating the birthday of Charles Darwin with music, performance art and installations exploring Darwin’s Theory of Evolution.
Come along to be part of this unique event in the Cathedral Precinct – Wednesday 1 July from 7.30pm
