The tag-line from the newly adopted strategic plan for the Diocese of the Northern Territory framed the procedings of Synod last weekend as it opened and closed at Christ Church Cathedral. Synod opened with Bishop Greg’s Synod Charge (download here) and ended with the leaders from the Indigenous parishes telling their stories and encouraging us to remember them.
In something of a watershed, the Strategic Plan was adopted without dissent – testament to the 18 month process of consultation and development. The challenge now is for parishes to work out how the plan will come to life in their own contexts.
For the Cathedral, it means that we will begin again our own strategic planning processes as we seek how best to “Live, Share and Engage” with the Darwin CBD.
